Trying out my new supplies

Oh, I was a bad, bad girl this week!  I went and spent way too much money on new watercolors from Daniel Smith!  But look at those beautiful colors!  I love them so much and I had to try them out right away.  The photos just don’t do them justice.

I also bought a stamp set “Happy Travels” back in March/April by Cardmaking and Papercraft, designed by Emma Jones that was with an issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft.  I have to admit that I was dumb and thought that I was getting the stamp set for cheap, but no, it cost me double what I thought I was paying.  If I had not bought it at my grocery store, I would have returned it, but by the time I got home with my groceries, I was too lazy to go back.  Oh well, you live and learn.  I am happy with the stamp designs, which is what caught my eye in the first place.

You Can Do It

I started with the circles of my new Daniel Smith watercolors, Quinacridone purple, Quinacridone deep gold, and Ultramarine turquoise.  I then stamped on the Happy Travels car, trailer and balloons. Then with the same colors, I went in and added color to the stamped designs.  To give the circles a bit more definition, I used my Faber Castell Pitt pens to outline the circles and give some shading, and added some black sharpie to outline things.

I probably won’t be buying anymore art supplies for a while, because I don’t normally spend that much all at one time.  I am a little ashamed of myself.  I will have to make good use of what I have to make up for it!

Hope you all have a happy crafting day!

Julie
